Maritime | Newfoundland and Labrador

This list includes all species, subspecies or populations in Maritime Canada that are legally listed under the Federal Species at Risk Act listed by COSEWIC as Endangered, Threatened, Special Concern, Extinct or Extirpated, or under provincial acts in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island. Species assessed by COSEWIC as Data Deficient or Not at Risk are not listed. The list was compiled from lists available on-line at the following websites:

2) Environment Canada - Species at Risk
3) New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources
4) Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources

The distribution information was taken from the COSEWIC website and reflects present or former regular occurrence, as opposed to occasional or accidental occurrence.

The list was compiled January 10, 2007. Status ranks are subject to change, and users of this list in future are advised to check the above websites to look for changes.
