| About Our Data | |
In addition to occurrence information, the Atlantic CDC compiles and maintains "tracking lists" which are data about the rarity or conservation status of species or communities. Tracking lists are maintained for: bryophytes, vascular plants, tiger beetles, butterflies, dragonflies, freshwater mussels, crayfish, freshwater fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. Tracking lists for forested communities in the Maritimes should be available in 2006 and lists for non-forested communities in 2008. The Atlantic CDC is currently tracking the status of approximately 4,000 species and sub-species that have been ranked extremely rare to uncommon.
