  Organizational Structure

Board of Directors

The Atlantic CDC’s Board of Directors is drawn primarily from its founding partner organizations. They presently consist of:

Membership

A member shall be any Canadian federal agency; any Atlantic Canadian provincial agency; any university, college, museum or other academic/research institution; any for-profit corporate organization; any non-profit environmental organization; or any individual who provides an annual and/or substantial, unrestricted one-time contribution to the Atlantic CDC that, in the judgement of the Board, significantly sustains the Atlantic CDC; and has been accepted by the Board as a member. (A member provides funds that are used, in whole or in part, to sustain core Atlantic CDC needs/activities, as opposed to funds for project related deliverables; a contributor is not necessarily a member.)
Minimum annual membership contributions:
  • $10,000 - federal government organizations
  • $5,000 - provincial government organizations, businesses (>100 employees), and national NGOs
  • $2,000 - businesses (<100 employeees), academic institutions, and provincial/local NGOs

    Benefits:
  • Members have the tight to speak and make representations at the Annual General meeting of the AC CDC
  • Members have the right to be elected to the Board of Directors and to vote at the Annual General Meeting and any special meetings of the membership
  • Members are entitled to a credit on any AC CDC charges for services up to 40% of the value of their annual contribution, as outlined in the CDC Pricing Policy
  • Members are given preferential service over other clients for data and field service requests
